Tree Roots

Tree roots can grow into underground drainage pipework and continue to grow restricting the flow and then eventually blocking the whole drainage system. Our experienced team can provide a CCTV survey of the below ground drainage and establish the extent of the roots and alert you of any damage caused along with any remedial works required including root cutting to remove the tree roots.

Hair

Hair can get into the drainage system through plug holes, it can wrap around the structures, combine with soap and any other debris, resulting in a large blockage either at just below surface level or further into the drainage system. Diamond Drainage provide various types of equipment for the removal of the debris and hair.

Soap

A reaction between the minerals in water and fatty acids within the soap creates soap scum. This soap scum can build up in our pipes and block up the drain. It can also attract mould and mildew causing bad odours.

Toiletries

Flushing any wipes, sanitary protection, nappies and baby wipes can also cause blockages. If your drainage system has some structural defects that are unknow to you, flushing these items can result with them sticking to a misplaced joint and the more toilet roll etc are flushed will keep catching and building up, eventually blocking the entire system.

Food

Food waste from un-scraped plates and dishes, or even waste that is deliberately flushed down the sink or toilet, can lead to blocked drains.

Fat From Cooking

Fat from cooking can easy solidify and congeal in pipework, resulting in blocked drains.
